Discussed future strategies for the battery industry at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry
On August 22, 2022, "Discussion Meeting between Minister Nishimura and experts and businesses related to storage batteries" was held.
Minister Nishimura, Mr. Shimizu, Director of the Automotive Division, and Mr. Takeo, Director of the Battery Industry Office from METI attended the meeting. LIBTEC President Yoshino, BASC Chairman Tadanobu Tadanobu (President of Panasonic Energy), ppes President Yoshida, and JST President Hashimoto exchanged views on the storage battery industry strategy.
We explained in details of BASC's efforts to achieve the public-private target (150 GWh in Japan, 600 GWh globally) regarding the scale of investment, recycling, and digital schemes manufacturing equipment.
